Title: Exploring Oxford Nanopore Technology: Applications and Support from the Genomics Core Facility CeNT UW
Date:  26.06.2025, Thursday
Time: 10:00 (Central European Time)
The webinar will be held in ZOOM

Abstract:

We are pleased to continue our series of technical webinars showcasing the capabilities of the Genomics Core Facility (GCF), CeNT, University of Warsaw. In this session, we will explore Oxford Nanopore Technology – a cutting-edge, real-time sequencing platform known for its ability to directly analyse any length of native DNA or RNA.
The presentation will cover key aspects of experimental planning, including when and how to use Nanopore sequencing effectively, how to isolate and assess high-quality DNA, and which library preparation methods are available for various research needs. Attendees will gain insight into how flowcells work, what influences read length and data quality, and how Nanopore sequencing data can be integrated with other sequencing platforms such as Illumina.
We will also highlight real-world applications and show how researchers can access sequencing and bioinformatic support through our facility. The session aims to provide both practical knowledge and inspiration for scientists considering Nanopore sequencing in their own projects.
