Server colocation
Server colocation is a service consisting of renting space in a server room and providing the infrastructure necessary for the servers to operate. As part of colocation, the client’s server is placed in the Data Centre (server room) of the service provider.
The UW’s Centre for New Technologies has space in well-equipped Data Centre rooms and provides other UW units with the opportunity to collocate server equipment. Whole server racks are co-located, but we also do not exclude the possibility of co-locating several servers in our racks.
Our server rooms are equipped with an access control system, UPS emergency power supply, a gas extinguishing system, a precision air-conditioning system and power generators in case of a prolonged municipal power outage.
