CeNT Symposium 2026

Last week, on May 21, the CeNT 2026 Symposium took place at the University of Warsaw’s Center for New Technologies. The Center for New Technologies is currently in the process of recruiting five new group leaders for its laboratories, and the CeNT Symposium serves as the culminating event of the recruitment process, during which 13 final candidates presented their research and their vision for leading research groups.

The event was opened by CeNT Director Prof. Jacek Jemielity, followed by a speech by the Vice Rector for Research at the University of Warsaw and Chair of the CeNT Scientific Council, Prof. Zygmunt Lalak.

At the CeNT 2026 Symposium, 13 candidates for laboratory directors delivered lectures, representing fields as diverse as archaeology, quantum physics, immunology, bioinformatics, and materials chemistry, and hailing from the University of Warsaw, other Polish universities and research institutes, as well as foreign universities. Prof. Anna Karnkowska – Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw, member recommended by the Scientific Council for Biological Sciences,

held individual meetings with the candidates and recommended five candidates to serve as new research group leaders:
