Bartosz Kasza from the Quantum Optical Devices Lab with the International Society for Optics and Photonics scholarship

Bartosz Kasza, a member of the Quantum Optical Devices Lab at the Centre of New Technologies, University of Warsaw and Ph.D. student of physics has been awarded a scholarship by the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE). The University of Warsaw doctoral student is the only representative of Polish universities among the 85 recipients from around the world.

Bartosz Kasza conducts his research under the supervision of Prof. Michał Parniak-Niedojadło and Prof. Wojciech Wasilewski. His work concerns precise microwave radiation detectors based on Rydberg atoms, i.e., alkali atoms excited to very high energy states. In addition to his research work, Bartosz Kasza is actively involved in the development of the University of Warsaw’s Optics and Photonics Research Club (KNOF). Last year, he served as vice president and was responsible, among other things, for organizing the innovative “Illuminations” series of meetings. These meetings served as a platform for the exchange of experiences between doctoral students, professionals from the photonics and optics industry, and students of the Faculty of Physics.
