On July 3–4, 2025, the Centre of New Technologies (CeNT) will host the workshop “PNA and Peptides for Antibacterial Applications”. The event is organized as part of the project “Advanced Photoluminescent Platform for Bacterial Treatment”, co-funded by the SEED4EU+ program. The project brings together scientists from three European universities: the University of Warsaw, the University of Milan, and Charles University in Prague.
During the workshop, participants will discuss innovative research aimed at developing an effective platform for novel antibacterial agents based on bioactive compounds — including luminescent platinum complexes, peptide nucleic acids (PNAs), and synthetic peptides. We are also pleased to host Prof. Nadja Patenge from the University of Rostock, a pioneer in the development of antisense oligonucleotide-based therapies against Streptococcus pneumoniae.
The event is organized by the Biomolecular Machines Laboratory, Prof. Joanna Trylska and dr. Monika Wojciechowska, in collaboration with research partners from across Europe.
