Two new laboratories have been established at the Centre of New Technologies at the University of Warsaw
The first one is the Laboratory of Neuroeconomics, led by Dr. Alicja Puścian, who has gained scientific experience in Switzerland, Japan, and the United States, and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University. Researchers working at the Neuroeconomics Laboratory will help us understand how the brain shapes economic decisions in a social context. It is the first scientific lab in Poland to conduct integrated research on the neural foundations of social influence on decision-making.
The second unit is the Organic Electronics Laboratory, led by Dr. Przemysław Gaweł, who earned his PhD at ETH Zurich in 2012, joined Professor Harry L. Anderson’s group at the University of Oxford in 2015 as a postdoctoral fellow of the Swiss National Science Foundation, and began working as a lecturer at Keble College in 2017. Scientists at the new laboratory will design carbon-rich “molecular building blocks” that combine organic chemistry with modern electronics. “The mission of the Organic Electronics Laboratory is materials-by-design: from molecule to device. We integrate science and engineering in a single research and development cycle to build faster, more energy-efficient digital technologies and train specialists working at the intersection of chemistry, physics, and engineering,” explains Dr. Gaweł.
