Two NCN SONATINA grants awarded to CeNT

Category: CeNT news, Main page

In the tenth edition of the NCN SONATINA competition, 76 projects were selected for funding scientists, who are at the beginning of their research careers. They will receive a total of over 60 million PLN to support their further development, including funding for basic or applied research, full-time employment, and internships abroad.

Two of those projects will be implemented at the Centre of New Technologies. Mateusz Wdowiak will work on novel strategies to combat multidrug-resistant
pathogens and biofilms using membrane-active stapled D-peptides. This project will be carried out at the Biomolecular Machines Laboratory of Joanna Trylska. The second laureate, Greta Brancaleoni, will develop diachronic, multi-proxy geoarchaeological approach to penning deposits to test lowland–highland variability across archaeological sites in Central Asia. Greta will join Małgorzata Kot, who will soon start a new group at CeNT.
