An international team of scientists affiliated with the 4D Nucleome consortium has published its research on nucleosome modeling in the journal Nature. One of the co-authors of this groundbreaking publication is Prof. Dariusz Plewczyński, head of the Laboratory of Functional and Structural Genomics at the Center for New Technologies of the University of Warsaw. THe 4D Nucleome team demonstrated the use of computational methods to predict genome folding from DNA sequence, which will facilitate the discovery of potential effects of genetic variants, including variants associated with disease, on genome structure and function.
