Category: CeNT news, Main page

The National Scince Centre (NCN) anounced laureates of the most recent round of NCN SONATA BIS grants, awarded to young scientists with the goal of estabilishing their own researh groups. We are happt to anounce that one of the grants has been awarde to Marcin Magnus, who will be the principal investigator of the “Harnessing deep learning for an understanding of RNA interactions with small molecules” project at the Centre of New Technologies. Marcin Magnus is curently finishing his postdoctoral position at the Harvard University and will soon join the Centre of New Technologies as the head of the Laboratory of RNA Design and Therapeutics.

Marcin’s goal is to understand the evolution and role of RNA and RNPs in biological systems using computational methods (machine learning, molecular dynamics, structure prediction) and experimental (yeast genetics, molecular biology) and codify this knowledge into predictive computational models that can be applied for future RNA therapeutics.
