Tomasz Góral and Szymon Sutuła from the Cryomicroscopy and Electron Diffraction Core Facility at the Centre of New Technologies, University of Warsaw, co-authored a publications entitled “Symmetrization of Strong Hydrogen Bond under High Pressure in Bihydroxide-Ion-Containing NaCu2(SO4)2·H3O2 Revealed by Experimental Charge Density, Single-Crystal Electron Diffraction, and Neutron Diffraction Studies”, which was just published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society. The publication concerns the mechanism of pressure-induced hydrogen bond symmetry in the mineral natrochalcite, which was revealed by experimental charge density studies and was a collaborative effort led by Krzysztof Woźniak and Piotr Rejnhardt from the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw, in collaboration with scientists from the University of Vienna, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility.
