in NCN BEETHOVEN 2 scientific project: “Anionic Carbenes and Borylanions: Tuning the properties of ruthenium metal complexes in olefin metathesis”
Laboratory of Chemical and Biological Systems Simulation is searching for a Post-doc to work in Organometallic Synthesis Laboratory, Centre of Biological and Chemical Science, University of Warsaw

Requirements:
– PhD degree in organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry or similar (PhD obtained no sooner than 7 years before the starting year of the employment in the project),
– very good knowledge of organic synthesis, organometallic chemistry and catalysis using transition metal complexes. An additional advantage will be the knowledge of boron chemistry,
– very good command of English,
– scientific achievements documented by publications in recognized journals,
– experience in laboratory work (appreciated work experience based at Schlenk technique or glove box),
– knowledge of analytical techniques utilized in organic chemistry (NMR, MS, IR).
Job Duties:
The project will encompass the synthesis of WCA-NHCs and boryl anions including a systematic variation of substituents for structure-activity studies. The obtained ligands are planned to be introduced into Ru-complexes endowed with a reasonable set of co-ligands, and will be tested in catalytic reactions (olefin metathesis).
Post-doc task will be to synthesize the boron compounds for utilization as a ligands in transition metal complexes.
