On June 26, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education officially closed the TopMinds program, a joint initiative of the Top 500 Innovators Association and the Polish-American Committee on International Affairs of Fulbright.
Our graduate student, Natalia Zawrotna from the Laboratory of Functional and Structural Genomics led by Mr. Dariusz Plewczyński, and MSc Marcin Równicki from the Laboratory of Biomolecular Machines led by Ms. Joanna Trylska, have received diplomas from deputy minister Piotr Dardziński.
In addition, the SAMBAD team, of which Natalia was a member, became the winner of the TopMinds 2018 design contest in the INITIATIVE category. Team members proposed the implementation of a new preventive screening program, the aim of which is to improve the quality of women’s lives in Poland. The essence of the initiative is to facilitate testing for lesions within the cervix and, as a result, to increase the detectability of lesions at an early stage, which can be cured.
