Eight researchers professionally linked to CeNT UW were included in the Stanford University list of the world’s most-cited researchers.
The list was published in the PLOS Biology magazine and features 2% scientists from all over the world, representing all fields of science. It was prepared in two categories – one covers the entire scientific output, whereas the other refers to only one year. According to the list, 726 researchers from Poland are among the world’s most frequently cited scientists – both living and deceased, of which 54 people listed on the list are associated with the University of Warsaw.
Among researchers associated with CeNT UW, the highest ranked was Prof. Konrad Banaszek – Leader of the Quantum Technologies Laboratory and Director of the Centre for Quantum Optical Technologies International Research Agenda Unit. He is also one of the four scientists associated with CeNT UW who were featured on the list covering both the entire scientific output and last year only.
The most influential scientists in the context of the entire scientific output include:
- Prof. Konrad Banaszek (General Physics) – leader of Quantum Technologies Laboratory, Director of the Centre for Quantum Optical Technologies International Research Agenda Unit
- Prof. Jan Augustyński (Energy) – leader of the Laboratory for Photoelectrochemistry and Solar Energy Conversion
- Prof. Ewa Bulska (Analytical Chemistry) – CENT Acting Director
- Krzysztof Ginalski, PhD, DSc (Developmental Biology) – former leader the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Systems Biology in the years 2012-2019
- Prof. Wojciech Grochala (Inorganic & Nuclear Chemistry) – leader of the Laboratory of Technology of Novel Functional Materials
- Prof. Dariusz Plewczyński (Artificial Intelligence & Image Processing) – leader of the Laboratory of Functional and Structural Genomics
The group of scientists who had the greatest influence on the development of science last year includes:
- Prof. Konrad Banaszek (General Physics) – leader of Quantum Technologies Laboratory, Director of the Centre for Quantum Optical Technologies International Research Agenda Unit
- Prof. Wojciech Grochala (Inorganic & Nuclear Chemistry) – leader of the Laboratory of Technology of Novel Functional Materials
