In reference to the state of epidemic threat introduced in Poland on March 13, 2020, the Rector of the University of Warsaw issued a communication regarding the principles of the university’s functioning from March 16, 2020. It regulates, among others, the issues of administrative work, including the University’s UW, document circulation and the functioning of university buildings.
“Dear Sir or Madam,
with reference to the state of epidemic threat introduced in Poland on March 13, 2020, I introduce from March 16 from 8.00 the following rules regarding the functioning of the University of Warsaw:
1. University administration offices do not accept clients. In exceptional cases, the office manager may agree to accept a given client, in accordance with the rules given by the Chief Sanitary Inspector.
2. Matters should be dealt with via email.
3. Office workers must work remotely. If presence on site is necessary, the office manager organizes on-call time and appoints people on duty. Persons working remotely during working hours perform their duties in accordance with the manager’s instructions and are available at e-mail addresses.
4. The websites of individual offices should include information about the duties carried out and the manner of dealing with cases.
5. The bursary of the University of Warsaw works on a roster system. Commitments, such as salaries and scholarships, are implemented on schedule. Other financial matters are dealt with in accordance with the information provided on the Kwestura website.
6. Non-financial documents that require signatures must be sent as scans (PDF) or photos (JPG) until further notice. Please make sure that the necessary signatures and stamps are clear.
7. Paper versions of these documents should be sent in accordance with current rules. Paper documents should only be sent by internal mail through the office.
8. Entrances to University buildings are limited to the minimum necessary.
9. All catering establishments in the University buildings are closed until further notice
10. All information about any problems in the functioning of the University of Warsaw should be immediately directed to the coordination team at the email address InfoCovid19@adm.uw.edu.pl.
The deans and heads of organizational units of the University of Warsaw are obliged to organize the functioning of their units in accordance with the above principles, and in the case of building management – also the functioning of these buildings.
University authorities remain in constant contact with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Masovian Voivode and the Chief Sanitary Inspector. We will inform you immediately about any changes on the University of Warsaw website.
