Prof. Joanna Trylska received the NAWA Bekker fellowship for a visit to Rikagaku Kenkyūsho (RIKEN) in Tokyo, Japan. The aim of the project is to investigate the mechanisms of interactions between antibacterial peptides and bacterial membranes using simulation methods. Understanding how peptides disintegrate membranes will help explain and predict their antibacterial activity.
