NCN grant for dr hab. Marta Szulkin, prof. Ucz.

We are pleased to inform you that professor Marta Szulkin, head of the Wild Urban Evolution & Ecology Lab, from the Centre of New Technologies, became the winner of the fourth edition of the UWERTURA competition and received a grant for the project: “Sources of rapid adaptation to urban environments”.
This year, as many as nine researchers from the University of Warsaw received funding from the National Science Centre for the implementation of their projects. On February 18, the results of the eleventh edition of the MAESTRO competition, the ninth SONATA BIS and the fourth UWERTURA were announced. A total of 476 submitted applications were evaluated. Experts from the National Science Centre granted funds for the implementation of 90 projects, including 9 from the University of Warsaw. A total of over 21.6 million PLN out of 210.5 million PLN total funding was awarded to researchers from the University of Warsaw in all three competitions.
UWERTURA, whose winner is professor Marta Szulkin, is a competition for internships in foreign research teams implementing grants of the European Research Council (ERC). For the implementation of the winning project at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), Centre d’Ecologie Fonctionnelle et Evolutive received PLN 108,130 in funding.
