Abstract:

We are pleased to continue our series of technical webinars highlighting the scope of work undertaken at the Genomics Core Facility (GCF), CeNT, University of Warsaw. In this session, we will discuss alternative sequencing technologies that complement or extend beyond Illumina’s Sequencing by Synthesis approach. We will introduce the principles behind several emerging and established platforms – including MGI DNBSEQ, PacBio HiFi, Element Biosciences AVITI, and other next-generation systems – focusing on how their distinct chemistries and detection methods translate into practical advantages and limitations for different research goals. This webinar aims to provide a clear overview that will help researchers understand when and why to choose an Illumina alternative and inspire new experimental approaches.
