A ceremony to name the auditorium 00.142 after Professor Piotr Węgleński

On Thursday, May 15th 2025, a ceremony was held at the University of Warsaw’s Centre for New Technologies to name hall 00.142 after Professor Piotr Węgleński. Professor Piotr Węgleński was an outstanding scientist, director of the Centre for New Technologies at the University of Warsaw in 2012-2017 and pro-rector and rector of the University of Warsaw for many years. Piotr passed away from us on 19 January 2024 as an unquestionable Authority of immense culture, knowledge and class, perfectly recognized and respected in the academic community and widely in society, both nationally and internationally.
The ceremony was honoured by the presence of Prof. Węgleński’s daughters, Ms Anna Łochowska and Ms Magdalena Węgleńska-Wysocka, the JM Rector of the University of Warsaw, Professor Alojzy Nowak, Vice-Rector for Research, Professfor Zygmunt Lalak, Vice-Rector for Doctoral and Legal Affairs, Prof. Adam Niewiadomski, former and current rectors and deans of faculties at the University of Warsaw, and his friends.
