Jakub Karol Parnas Lecture: “Metastable structures at the catalytic core of the spliceosome and their consequences on splicing fidelity” by prof. Magda Konarska

Professor Magda Konarska from the International Research Agenda Unit ReMedy and the Centre of New Technologies at the University of Warsaw, is the laureate of the Jakub Karol Parnas Award, given by the Polish Biochemical Society for best original work in biochemistry and molecular biology published in 2019 and made entirely in a Polish laboratory.

The awarded paper “Rearrangements within the U6 snRNA Core during the Transition between the Two Catalytic Steps of Splicing” was published in Molecular Cell 2019 75(3): 538-548. Authors: Katarzyna Eysmont, Katarzyna Matylla-Kulińska, Agata Jaskulska, Marcin Magnus, Maria M. Konarska.

Prof. Konarska will present the Parnas lecture entitled: “Metastable structures at the catalytic core of the spliceosome and their consequences on splicing fidelity”. The online lecture will be held on 24th of September, 13:00 using Zoom Video Communications.
