FNP scholarship in the START competition.

The Foundation for Polish Science has awarded scholarships for young researchers. Of the hundred awarded, the second laureate from CeNT is a PhD student Joanna Chmielewska.

The laureate performs research in the field of molecular neuroscience in the Laboratory of Molecular Basis of Synaptic Plasticity under the supervision of Magdalena Dziembowska, PhD, D.Sc. Joanna works on the doctoral project that aims at deciphering the molecular basis of fragile X syndrome – the genetic disease from the autism spectrum characterized by intellectual disability. The results of this study will broaden the knowledge about the functioning of the synapse in physiological conditions, fragile X syndrome and other neurodevelopmental diseases, which may contribute to the development of new therapeutic strategies in the future.

Congratulations!
