Abstract: Pluripotent stem cells, such as embryonic stem cells or induced pluripotent stem cells, are considered as a source of cells that can be used in regenerative medicine. Moreover, their special features, such as unlimited proliferative potential, pluripotency, and also availability of the methods allowing to manipulate their gene expression, turn them into almost perfect tool to study mammalian development in vitro. In our lab we use these cells to analyze the role of various transcription factors and microRNAs in their myogenic differentiation both in vitro and in vivo.
