The project focuses on the development of an innovative 3D model based on bifunctional stem cells of the proximal nail fold (NPFSCs), designed as a tool for studying limb regeneration and cell-based therapies. The aim of the project is to develop a three-dimensional nail mini-organ model that will enable the investigation of NPFSC differentiation mechanisms and the effects of niche signals on the organization of nail structures. The model may provide a novel tool for studying regeneration processes and potential strategies for the reconstruction of damaged nail structures. The research is being conducted at the Stem Cell, Development and Tissue Regeneration Laboratory of the Centre of New Technologies.
