Transition metal salts of weekly coordination anions as model scavengers of nitrous oxide and halogenated hydrocarbons

Project Leader: Project period: 2017 - 2018
Project funding: HOMING, FNP
Project description:

The aim of the research is the synthesis of highly reactive salts of titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, nickel and calcium as potential scavengers of highly inert and environmentally harmful molecules like nitrous oxide or selected halogenated hydrocarbons. The idea is to utilize unique properties of metal cations in the form of salts of weakly coordinating anions or high surface materials.
